Recycle Orkney

We have had a visit from recycle Orkney. They were telling us how we recycle aluminium and sorting plastic that can be recycled.We have also been making recycled models as creative home work.

Meeting Chris and Jet

Chris and Jet have been walking round the coast of the UK to raise money. You can find out more at 

Orkney Science Festival

We have been doing a lot of activities through the Orkney Science Festival. We had some visitors to school, and some of us went to KGS on Saturday to do even more. 

We also had some visitors from the Primary Science Teaching Trust who spoke to the school about Miss Angier's science award.

Viking week at the Heritage Centre

We all went to the Heritage Centre to find out about the Vikings.

Congratulations to our strings teacher, Mark Summers, on his recent PhD qualification!

Well done Miss Angier on being awarded an outstanding Primary Science Teacher award from the Primary Science Teaching Trust.

A visit from our MP

Alastair Carmichael MP came in for lunch.


Planting wild flowers and in the polytunnel

We have been planting our wild flowers in the middle courtyard

Our polytunnel crops are looking really good too.

Bag the Bruck

We went to Sandgarth Beach and collected loads of bruck!

Eco Group and Gardening

The Eco group have been leading us all in planting. Eileen Summers came in from the Council to talk to us about bees and plants we could grow to encourage them. Jean came in to help us start growing vegetables in the polytunnel. Everybody got involved!
