The older class made clay models, first we designed them with paper. Then we made nets which is the basic shape of the model. After that we cut the slabs to the right size. We joined the slabs with slip and clay to form the 3D shapes. Once we created the models and finished adding details, we left them to dry for a few weeks, then we painted them. Our learning intentions were to be able to connect clay slabs and make nets for our models.
Here is a picture of our finished pots.

We had loads of fun we had two very fast people who scored most of our goals. Thank you to all the organisers and teachers who made it possible.

We went on a trip to Kirkwall to see the illustrator of horrible histories,Martin Brown
First we stopped off at the bank for an hour as we had been learning about banks last term. We met a man called Dean there and he showed us round the bank he gave us some activities to do. Next we went to the library.
We ate our packed lunches in a small room. We then got showed the library and the Dewey system - we got given quizzes to fill in and complete. We also borrowed French books.
Martin Brown taught us how to draw and he signed our books.
