Peas and beans

Our peas and beans had grown really big inside, it was time to plant them outside. First we dug two trenches.

Then we carefully took our plants out of the pots and put them in the trench. "Magic trowels" helped us to get them out of the pots when they were a bit tricky!

We watered them and then we put canes in so that the peas and beans would grow straight.

More plants

We repotted our sunflowers as they were getting too big for the peedie pots. Ian helped us.

Experimenting with flowers

We had some white flowers.

We put them in different water pots which each had different colour food colouring in and look what happened!

Look what's happened by the end of the day!

We think this has happened because the water with the colouring in has travelled up the stem to the flower. We are going to experiment with different length stems next and see what happens. We predict that the flowers with shorter stems will change colour quicker.

Planting in the polytunnel (and elsewhere!)

We planted peas in the polytunnel.

We have also planted peas in pots in the classroom and some outside and we are going to see which peas grow best.
