Visit from Liam McArthur MSP

Liam McArthur MSP came to visit us to talk to us about his job and reading. We liked the stories especially, thank you Liam!

Shapinsay Tree Lighting 2014

On Friday 5th December 2014 the Shapinsay Christmas tree was lit up - well done to P7s who switched the lights on (and to the people who put the lights on the tree, it looks great!).

The children sang "We wish you a Merry Christmas" in 2 parts outside and then we all came inside (it was cold!) where the children played Jingle Bells on the recorder.

After the Shapinsay Singing group had performed some songs the children joined with them for a joint performance of "Merry Christmas Everyone"

The Missing Conductor

We had a visit from some musicians, all the way from Norway! They played the tuba, euphonium and french horn. Lunch club came to listen too and we all thought they were fantastic!

They had lost their conductor (we looked but couldn't find him!) so some of the children got to have a go at conducting. They did really well!

We all really enjoyed the concert, thank you so much for visiting our school!
