Making Samosas for Diwali

We all made vegetable samosas for Diwali. Some of us liked them and some of us didn't. They were good fun to make though!

WELL DONE EVERYONE - you raised over £83 for Poppy Scotland and over £160 for Children in Need!

We loved the costumes!

Remembrance Day

We have all been thinking about Remembrance Day this week, and about why it is so important that we do remember. Lots of the children went to the War Memorial in Shapinsay on Sunday and the Guides, Cubs and Brownies laid wreaths. The Beavers and Rainbows came too. We have all been wearing poppies and finding out about the significance of them.

Miss Clements found a box of memorabilia in her garage and brought it in to show us. It has some old medals and other things from World War One and World War Two. It's been interesting looking and talking about them and we hope we can find out more about them so we can return them to the right people.

On Tuesday 11th November at 11am the whole school from Nursery upwards took part in the 2 minute silence and everybody showed great respect. We are very proud of you all, well done children.

Rev Julia's assembly

Today Rev Julia came in - we learned about the story of Naamen who was healed of leprosy. You can find the story here.

We learned about the importance of washing, and that sometimes the most unusual things help us to clean things!
